How can I arrange a tour at Brighter Beginnings Early Learning Academy?

We have an open door policy at Brighter Beginnings. Please feel free to drop by anytime between the hours of 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a tour of both school grounds and classrooms.

How do you determine which child will be in which classroom?

Classrooms are divided into age groupings. We try to maintain a gender balance in each group and maintain a specific balance of children with special needs in our classrooms.

Do you offer any tuition or financial assistance?

Please review our brochure for current tuition rates. If you feel you may need financial assistance, there is a variety of government funded programs that we accept funding through. Please ask school administration if needed.

If I enroll in the part day schedule and needed my child to stay early/late one day, would that be possible?

"Drop-In Extended Days" are available when space permits during the early mornings from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and during the afternoon from 12:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Drop-In is charged on an hourly basis and is billed weekly or monthly on your tuition statement. Reservations must be made at least two days in advance by requesting a Drop-In Request Form from school administration.

Do you have any toilet training requirements?

Children in any of our toddler classrooms do not need to be toilet trained. If your child is in one of the 3-year-old classes, we encourage parents to look for signs of readiness to begin the toilet training process. We will work with you towards achieving this goal. The Pre-K classes require that children be toilet trained by the time they start the program. If this is a concern, you must inform us before your child starts the program.

Do you offer a hot lunch or any snacks?

At our Lomita location, we do offer a hot lunch service through a local company called Good & Tasty Lunches (goodntastylunches.com) All food is fresh and delivered daily to the school at lunchtime. If you enroll with us at our San Pedro location or are not participating in the hot lunch program at our Lomita location, parents of children enrolled in both our Half-Day or Full-Day programs will need to provide a healthy packed lunch for their child. We will provide your child with a nutritious morning and afternoon snack daily.

What are the daily hours for the program?

Our facilities are open Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Morning Program runs from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A variety of extended-day child care options are available.

How much is the registration fee/deposit and is it refundable?

The registration fee is non-refundable, unless the program cannot provide you with an opening. This fee is currently $125/per child. There is also an $80 annual materials fee and a one-time $15 emergency kit fee, in addition to the registration fee. These fees are mandatory.

What requirements are there for enrollment?

Following payment of the registration fee of $125, you will be given an enrollment packet to take home and complete. The packet contains forms that must be completed before your child’s first day of enrollment.

What should I know about the enrollment process?

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority consideration is given to families who have children currently enrolled at Brighter Beginnings. Additional consideration for enrollment is given to the following factors: children of staff, children of formerly enrolled families, children who have been on the waiting list for the program, a gender balance within a classroom and/or availability of slots in each age grouping.

What is the youngest age you accept into the program?

At our San Pedro location, we accept 18 months of age and up. Our Lomita location accepts ages 2-5 years of age.
